During a trip to Monterey, California, I happened upon this peaceful scene..sheep grazing among the foothills.. it evokes a sense of peace in the lazy days of summer.

When considering my passion, my art, I am reminded of Merton's statement, "Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time". When I sit at my easel, I am most truly myself.
